Stones, Scissors, Sharks, and Scores!
What do they all have in common? Besides the fact that they all start with S, they were all a part of my day. The last two also being a party of Wes and Ashleigh’s Day. Completely lost? Well, let me fill you in! For Valentines Day my amazing husband bought me a gift certificate to About Faces Day Spa in Canton. I arrived at 10 AM, my first service was a hot stone massage at 10:30. After my hour massage I had a one hour facial, then a yummy Chicken Ceasar Salad from Canton Dockside, which is in the adjoining buiding, and is one of our favorite places to eat. After my lunch I got a manicure and pedicure, and finished my day off with a haircut. I will be sending 14 inches of my hair to Locks of Love this week. Yup. That’s right FOURTEEN INCHES! Wes and I are still in a little bit of shock. Their minumum is 10 inches, and I was hoping to cut off 11. Well, the stylist cut a little higher than I thought she was going to, and I am now sporting a new do! I finished my AMAZING, realxing spa day shortly after 4 PM. I headed down to Canton Dockside, where Wes and Ashleigh were going to be meeting me for dinner. We had a lovely meal, as we always do there, and then headed to the Baltimore Aquarium for Members night! We had a great time, we got to see their 4D movie as a part of members night. Ashleigh was a little freaked out by the 4D part, but near the end she relaxed and realized just how cool the movie really was. The first thing she wanted to see was the birds. So, off to the top level to see the Rainforest we went! The best part about being members, is that you don’t have to see everything in one trip! If we just want to go see the birds and the sharks, we can!
The birds were all down low, since it was night time, and the place was not packed. The employee in the rainforst area tonight was my A&P II lab instructor from last spring! So, we stood and chatted for a minute. She told me all about the birds, and that one of the species even laid eggs a few weeks ago. I thought it was very cool that the birds felt like the enviornment was natural enough to actually reproduce! Ashleigh then wanted to see the sharks, so off we went! Many of them were sleeping too. It was neat to watch them just laying on the bottom of the tanks. We even saw a fish leaned up against a rock, taking a rest.
So, after my lovely spa day, and our yummy dinner, and our fun trip to the aquarium, we went to see Wes’s basketball game. For those of you who don’t know, he is playing basketball on a team with a bunch of people from our church and another church. It’s part of a Sports Ministry, and they play in the rec leagues of Howard County. They all have a good time and he has made some new friends through the team and it has been fun for him to get to play basketball again.
We got home around 10PM, and I put Ash to bed. I know there are a few of you just waiting for the new hair cut photos, so I have those edited and ready to look at. I’ll add the aquarium photos tomorrow. I’m off to bed! Enjoy our photos! Good night.
