A Future Anika Sorenstam!

So, Ashleigh and I finally got to try out her brand new golf clubs! She was so excited to go outside. I talked her into carrying her golf clubs on her back, but that didn’t last long. After being trapped by the entertainment center, the coffee table, laci, and the stairs she was ready for daddy to carry the clubs. Oh well, we’ll have to work on that right?

So outside we went, and away she went. Swinging, missing, swinging hitting. I think she might be more inclined to lefty, but we’ll see how she does over the next few months.

It was a blast, got a few pics and I’ll upload some video later as well. Enjoy the pics.

Ashleigh’s Artwork

Ashleigh has been enjoying the chalk board side of her art easel, so last night we finally got out the paints for her and started the roll of paper. She made her first painting. It is for her daddy.

We took some photos of her first “non-crying” painting! Enjoy!

Climbing, Cake, Clothes, Chalk, and Clowns…

I think this one is kind of obvious! They were all a part of our day on Saturday. We had Ashleigh’s birthday party and then went to the circus!

Ashleigh’s party was held at Merritt Athletic Club in Canton. We used one of the cardio rooms and they made it a Dora filled event! We walked in to the Dora soundtrack, a Dora cut out for the kids to stick their faces in for photos, a ball pit, they used the step aerobics steps to create a moutain filled pathway to Dora’s house, and they had some nice foam pieces for the kids to climb on. They had a blast!

We had a great turn out, the kids seemed to have a blast and Ashleigh was thrilled to get to spend the day with her friends and family. I loved the fact that I didn’t have to stress about the weather! After the rainy birthday party last year, I decided I didn’t want to go through that again! The chalk and clothes were some of the fun presents she got. Ashleigh loves sidewalk chalk in the nice weather, and we used all we had left over already! So, she was thrilled to get 3 buckets of sidewalk chalk! She also got an awesome art easel with a chalk board on one side, a dry erase board on the other, and a paper roll that comes down for painting and coloring! She is having a blast with that one!

After the party was over we headed to the otherside of the harbor for the circus! As part of her birthday present from Aunt Beth and Uncle Roy we went to see the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Baily’s Circus. Ashleigh was a little overwhelmed at first with the noise level and the crowd, but she had a great time! She loved seeing the animals the most. The elephants were very cool, the tigers showed us a few tricks, and the dogs…oh the dogs! The dogs were doing all sorts of dances, they were doing acrobatics, they went down the slide, and some were even wearing funny clothes.

We all had a great time and we have tons of photos to share! Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Little Girl!

Can you believe it? It’s hard for me to beleive that three years ago right now I was in the final stages of labor about to hold my beautiful little girl. All of the Grandparents were in the waiting room, and Wes was holding my hand, reminding me that yes, I could indeed do this!

We didn’t realize how greatly the birth of our first child would impact our world. What an amazing 3 years it has been! Ashleigh has grown into an amazing little girl. She is smart, friendly, and articulate. She has no problem telling you exactly what she wants, yet she gives you those puppy dog eyes and big grin that no one could refuse.

I got an email today reminding me that my child is now a 3 year old preschooler. It talked about how at the age of 3 many children can prepare their own cereal, they can get dressed on their own, and they are interested in social interaction. Ashleigh has become very social recently, and it is so cute to see her interact with other kids. She certainly CAN get dressed on her own, however, she much prefers it if we help her. As for the cereal, well, I’m certainly not brave enough to let her hold a gallon of milk, but she sure does love to put her waffle in the toaster and push the lever down. I think that counts.
