The Linda Family

So Ashleigh and I had an eventful day.  We went to a LLL meeting this morning, then we met friends at the playground in Laurel.  The girls had a blast playing.  Silly me forgot my camera!  Then it was nap time   Dora fell and split her lip, and Ashleigh started to melt down.  When we got home, Ashleigh refused to nap.  Figures!  She was too far gone.  So, we played and she was cranky, but that’s life with a 2 year old!  As Wes got home I was getting Ashleigh out of time out.  When she is cranky and miserable and rude, usually a time out snaps her out of it.  And, it did work, as usual.  She apologized to me, gave me a hug and a kiss and told me she loved me…the conversation went like this….

A: I love you Mommy!
K: I love you too Ashleigh!
W: How much do you love Mommy?
A: –Blank Stare–
W: Do you love her lots?
A: No
W: Do you love her a bunch?
A: Um, just a bunch. 
A: I love you a bunch Mommy
W: Not lots?
A: No, just a bunch. 

Gee, way to make me feel loved.  She is eating dinner now, and then we’ll head upstairs to prepare for bed in the next hour.  We have another long day tomorrow.

Wes and I were talking today, and I asked him a question that very often annoys him….What do you want for dinner? He doesn’t like making the decision, but I sometimes give him suggestions and let him choose which way he’d like me to cook whatever it is I’m cooking…..Well, this afternoon’s conversation had me laughing so hard, I had to share….

K: would you like the shrimp steamed? or cold as cocktail? or in a dish such as scampi or shrimp and veggies?

K: i don know how to make that….
K: even google doesnt know….
W: Cocktail is fine.
W: Whatever is easiest.
W: We have a lot to do tonight.
W: That’s a coke code you idiot

I lost it…I SOO thought his 6n4jjkp69ajb was just my wonderful husband typing like Ashleigh, out of frustration…or banging his head on the keyboard….Can’t you feel the love?

Everyone’s doing it….So why shouldn’t I? It seems that most people you come across have a family blog, or at least a personal blog. So, I decided, why not! Ashleigh does some of the funniest things recently, and it would be great to be able to document them and share them with the world. Well, at least our friends and family

So welcome. Welcome to our blog! Right now I am listening to Ashleigh jumping on the couch telling me her “tushies are melted” whatever that means…..See, never a dull moment with a 2 year old around! I need to go get some stuff out of the way, because when Wes gets here in 15 minutes, we’re doing some rearranging….Stay tuned…..There will be more Ashleigh-isms to come!
